Obituary

An explanation of why this picture was chosen:
Many years before Phil’s cancer diagnosis, he asked me to promise that when he died I post this photo in the paper and that it should only read: “Phil’s dead”. That was it. Nothing else. No matter how many times we talked it over, trust me there were many times, he insisted to have it that way! Unfortunately, we all know this photo could not be posted in the paper. So for the paper, an edited version was provided!
Words alone cannot express the loss of my soulmate of 25 years.’ Phillip was my everything. He unconditionally accepted my 3 children and me into his life for an amazing adventure! His last project is an example of how much he loved me…his only regret was that he couldn’t finish it himself. I know that in spirit he will guide me to completion of this project so I can live in his legacy!
Thank you to Dr’s Winter & Sandwith, BC Cancer Agency Victoria Oncologists, Ruth from Cancer Care, all the ER staff on Monday January 22 along with Dr Pappenfuss, internal medicine Dr Kohen for his guidance,  3rd floor colleagues for their incredible compassion. Danny & Conny, my children and their families, my friend Al A. who stayed with Phil and me until the end of his journey, and for which I am eternally grateful. Thank to all the numerous friends, too many to mention, for their support and caring during Phil’s life with cancer. Last but not least thank you to Toneff for the wonderful service and support in such sad time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Eric Toneff.
